We repair what can be saved and only replace what can't
Plenty of aerials that look dead are perfectly serviceable. Realigning a pole that has drifted a few degrees, replacing a perished balun, or remaking a soaked joint at the wall entry will often restore every multiplex without spending anything on new hardware.
Sometimes the honest answer is the other way round. Twenty-year-old aluminium goes brittle, chimney lashings cut into soft Victorian mortar, and old brown analogue-era coax leaks signal badly. When that's what we find, we say so, show you the readings, and quote for a replacement rather than patching something that will fail again next winter.
We also clear up after other people's work: aerials bolted to unsound chimney stacks, cable drilled through window frames, and amplifiers stacked in lofts to mask a fault that was never found in the first place.

Wind-turned aerials
Realigned and re-clamped to the metered peak, with the lashing kit renewed if it has bitten into the brickwork.
Snapped elements
Broken or bent dipoles and reflectors replaced, or the head swapped where the boom itself is fatigued.
Water in the coax
Corroded plugs and soaked cable ends cut back, remade and weatherproofed properly with self-amalgamating tape.
Failed amplifiers
Masthead and loft amplifiers tested under load; overdriven units removed rather than replaced like-for-like.
Rotten brackets
Rusted wall brackets and chimney straps taken off and refitted into sound masonry with stainless fixings.
Post-storm checks
A full roofline inspection after high winds, including neighbouring poles that could come down on yours.

Aerial repairs — the details
Can you repair an aerial without scaffolding?
In most cases yes — we work safely from ladders with roof anchors and edge protection. On very tall or unsafe rooflines we will tell you if access equipment is genuinely necessary rather than take a risk.
My aerial fell into the garden. Is the pole still usable?
Often only the pole and head are damaged while the bracket is sound, which makes for a cheaper repair. We'll assess both and quote for the smaller job where it's safe to do so.
Is a repair worth it on a very old aerial?
If the metalwork is brittle or the coax is analogue-era, a repair tends to buy you a season. We'll show you what we've found and let you decide with the numbers in front of you.
Do you cover storm damage insurance claims?
We provide a written description of the damage and the work carried out, which is usually what insurers ask for. We don't handle the claim itself.
How quickly can you come out?
Same-week is normal and same-day happens often, particularly after windy weather when we keep slots free for damage calls.
