We start with the rooms that annoy you. Usually it is a kitchen-diner with four circuits fighting each other, a stairwell that is either dark or blinding, and a living room where nobody can find the right dimmer. We map the circuits you already have and design scenes on top of them.

In a period house we can often work retrofit — modules behind existing plates or in the ceiling void — so there is no chasing walls and no redecorating. On a renovation we prefer to be involved at first fix, where a centralised dimming panel gives you the cleanest wall plates and the widest choice of fittings.

Dimming curves matter as much as the hardware. We set minimum levels so nothing flickers or buzzes at 5 per cent, match colour temperature across a room, and label every keypad button in plain English so a guest or a cleaner can use it without instructions.
