Common faults we fix: cameras showing no signal, a recorder that has quietly stopped writing to its hard drive, remote viewing that broke after a router change, water in a cable joint, a cracked or fogged lens dome, and night images washed out by a security light. Most of these are a repair, not a new system.

We take over CCTV from any installer. If parts are obsolete we can usually keep the cabling and replace cameras or the recorder alone, which costs a fraction of starting again. Only when the wiring or kit is genuinely beyond fixing do we recommend a full replacement.

For new systems, we would rather fit three cameras that produce usable footage than six that cover everything vaguely — the front approach, side return, garden access and any bike store, framed at head height where the detail is.
