Most houses we visit already have pieces — a smart thermostat, a doorbell, a speaker, some smart bulbs — each with its own app and none of them talking. We assess what is worth keeping, then build a control layer over the top so the house behaves as one system.
We design a small number of scenes around real routines: morning, out, home, evening, goodnight, away. Each does several things at once — lighting levels, blinds, heating setback, music off, alarm armed — so nobody has to work through four apps at the front door.
Reliability drives every decision. Keypads and local control keep working if broadband drops, hardware sits in one ventilated rack, and everything is documented so a future engineer can pick it up without starting again.

Whole-home control — the details
Do we have to replace everything?
No. We keep whatever is decent and integrate it; replacement is only recommended where a device cannot be controlled reliably.
Can it be done in phases?
Yes, and that is often the sensible route — lighting first, then shading, audio and security as budget allows.
What if the internet fails?
Keypads, lighting, heating and audio keep working locally. Only remote access and voice depend on broadband.
Is this only for new builds?
No. A large share of our work is retrofit in period Hampstead and Highgate houses.
Who supports it afterwards?
We do — the same engineers, on our aftercare arrangements.
